The FIC charges for services that do not support direct instruction for UT engineering students. For example, fees apply for departmental web sites, recruiting web sites, promotional videos, and some videoconferences depending upon need and audience. Web Sites
An inexpensive option allows the client to enter content into a web site shell that the FIC designs. Using Macromedia Contribute, people with no web development experience can enter and edit content and add new pages to the site. The example below shows the estimated cost for the FIC to develop an 8-10 page web site.
Large web sites that involve hundreds of individual web pages can be produced by the FIC. If a department would like a new web site and provides the content, the FIC will create the information architecture and populate the site. Despite the complexity of these sites, they can be designed so that non-technical staff (outside of the FIC) can be responsible for adding, editing, and updating content. Podcasts
In offering more options for instructional content delivery, the FIC can record lectures and other presentations and distribute them as podcasts. Unlike a webstream, podcasts are unique in that people can ‘subscribe’ to automatically receive regular updates. Content can be converted to be audio, video or ‘enhanced’ iTunes compatible media. Additionally, PDF documents can also be distributed via podcast. This delivery option allows for instructional assets to be both portable and archive-ready. The example below is for a typical 5-10 minute podcast.

Design a Promotional Poster
